Video: Rangers Fans Will Love Ray Wilkins Raving About His Time at Ibrox

Ray Wilkins has sadly passed away this afternoon, and Rangers fans will love the former midfielder reflecting on his time at Ibrox.

A former Manchester United, Chelsea and England stalwart, Wilkins played for the Gers between 1987 and 1989, before spending a short time with Hibs in the 1996/97 season.

After battling illness for sometime, Wilkins passed away today after suffering a heart attack last week, and the news has prompted an outpouring of grief from his former clubs, fans and followers on social media.

Rangers supporters have been reminiscing about Wilkins’ spell in Govan, most notably his spectacular double against Celtic in a 2-2 draw back in 1987.

And it seems Wilkins enjoyed being a Ranger as much as any other club, as this interview on Sky Sports show Goals on Sunday from several years ago shows:

At the ridiculously young age of just 61, football has lost a good man a long way before his time.

RIP Ray.
