CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin nearly ruined a dream start for Arsenal in the Europa League tonight, with a terrific equaliser from a free-kick.
Aaron Ramsey had given Arsene Wenger’s team an early lead after some neat build-up play from Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Hector Bellerin.
However, as most Arsenal fans have surely been made aware during what’s been a turbulent season, their team aren’t the best when it comes to holding their nerve.
And CSKA took advantage of that slackness to win a dangerous set-piece before the 20 minute mark, which Golovin capitalised on with a wonderful dipping effort that left Petr Cech with no chance:

Golovin is the bright spark of this CSKA side, with big things expected of the Russia international at this summer’s World Cup.
And you would expect Wenger to react to this goal by delivering strict instructions to avoid conceding anymore needless free-kicks.
Luckily Arsenal have stepped up since conceding, with Alexandre Lacazette scoring a penalty and Ramsey netting a brilliant second to make it 3-1.
