Liam Henderson‘s impressive campaign in Italy continues to go from strength to strength after his latest goal for FC Bari at the weekend.
The Scotland Under-21 international signed for the Serie B side during the January transfer window in a cut-price £110,000 deal from Celtic, and has went on to make a name for himself quickly in Italian football.
The midfielder started the weekend’s 1-1 draw at home to Salernitana, and soon had the Bari supporters chanting his name after opening the scoring in the first-half – as you can see from 1:10 of the highlights package below:
They might’ve only went on to claim a share of the spoils, but Bari are still well placed to challenge for promotion back to Italy’s top-flight next season.
Bari are currently in the play-off spots, but are just four points off automatic promotion to Serie A – where Henderson could be rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in European football.
Looking at the youngster coping so well in a foreign country, could he soon be in line for a call-up to the Scotland squad? And did Celtic let him go too soon?
