Graeme Murty spoke to the media today – and Rangers‘ YouTube channel has shared footage of that press conference.
We thought we weren’t going to get any footage of the presser after the club’s official Twitter account failed to share any live tweets from it.
But we’ve now got footage via their YouTube channel – and it makes for an interesting watch after a tumultuous week at Ibrox.
It started with the very disappointing 4-0 defeat to Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final last Sunday and continued with several instances of players behaving badly off the park.
While Andy Halliday was furious at being substituted before half-time in the game, Daniel Candeias went straight up the tunnel in a similar reaction to Murty bringing him off in the second half.
Reports say Greg Docherty and Alfredo Morelos clashed after the game too, while Kenny Miller and Lee Wallace have both been suspended by the club over a reported exchange with Murty in the dressing room.
Rangers keeping quiet about Murty’s presser today would have been understandable given the focus on it, but they have finally posted it to their YouTube channel – and he covers all of the above topics and more in a presser than should enlighten some supporters:
So Murty has been given support by his players, the staff and the board during this difficult period in charge of the club – but is that what fans want to hear? Especially so soon after such a bad result?
Rangers may be out of the Scottish Cup, with rivals Celtic on the verge of winning a double treble, but they still have second place to pay for and that should ensure a much more competitive Ibrox side between now and the end of the season.
