The 20-year-old left-back has been a revelation since he was handed his first-team debut under Ronny Deila in 2015, and has established himself as one of British football’s most promising talents since Brendan Rodgers’ arrival in the summer of 2016.
Tierney has been linked repeatedly with Manchester United, with Tottenham and Bournemouth recently credited with interests too, but now it appears Diego Simeone has cast his eyes over the exciting Scotland international.
According to the Sun, the Atletico boss has ordered his scouts to run the rule over Tierney in this weekend’s Scottish Cup final against Motherwell at Hampden, with the club’s current left-back Filipe Luís now 32, and recovering from a broken leg.
Simeone has guided Atletico to Europa League glory in 2012, and will contest the final of the same competition on Wednesday night against French cracks Marseille.
Moreover, Simeone has reached two Champions League finals since 2014, as well as winning the 2014 La Liga title – somehow breaking the dominance of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
But could he tempt Tierney away from Paradise? What do you think?
