Bookies Make Chelsea Surprise Favourites to Sign Yaya Toure This Summer

Yaya Toure is set to depart Manchester City this summer – and some bookmakers are making Chelsea the surprise favourites to sign the Ivory Coast midfielder at the end of the current campaign.

With his contract running out at the Etihad, Pep Guardiola has confirmed the 34-year-old will depart City having contributed to some of the Sky Blues’ most important achievements of the modern era.

Toure has won several Premier League titles, as well as several domestic cups during his eight-year stay in Manchester, and he’ll be given the captain’s armband for tonight’s final home game of the season against Brighton.

However, the odds compilers at Ladbrokes seem to think there’s a pretty good chance Toure will be staying in England for the 2018/19 season – and possibly at Stamford Bridge:

He might be 34 now, but could Toure still do a job for the Blues in the Premier League and in Europe?

What do you think?
