Celtic Fans Rally Around Leigh Griffiths After Cryptic Posts About Mental Health

Celtic supporters have been rallying around Leigh Griffiths throughout Thursday after the striker posted several cryptic messages to his Instagram account referring to his mental health.

The Scotland international has sat out Celtic’s last two matches, the win over Hearts and draw with Kilmarnock, due to illness but is expected to be fit for Sunday’s visit of Aberdeen.

But, earlier today, the 27-year-old worried some of his followers on social media by posting these images to his Instagram story:

Of course, as you’d probably expect, Hoops fans have noticed the posts and quickly set about helping Griffiths realise just how much he’s loved in the East End of Glasgow:

Mental health is such a crucial issue in today’s society but is sometimes overlooked when it comes to sportspeople, who sometimes seem invincible to onlookers.

Perhaps it’s worth remembering that footballers are just humans at the end of the day like everybody else.

Fingers crossed Leigh feels better soon!
