Celtic’s Nir Bitton Hits Out at ‘Idiots’ Insulting Him and His Wife Because of His Nationality

Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton has hit out at online trolls who are constantly abusing him and his wife because he is an Israeli international.

The Israel-Palestine conflict continues to rage on in the Middle East, as it has done on and off for several decades, with each day seemingly bringing more and more fatal casualties and destruction.

As we’ve told you as recently as Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Motherwell, the Celtic fans have backed the people of Palestine in the way of supportive banners and have previously rallied together to raise money for Palestinian refugees who have been victims of the brutal dispute.

Given Bitton was born in Israel and has represented the Israeli national team for the last eight years, it appears the 26-year-old has been taking a lot of criticism because of his home country’s actions, but today he decided to address a few matters publicly on Instagram:

To be fair, not mixing politics and football is probably a decent message, but what do you think of the situation?
