Charly Musonda’s mum may have revealed that his loan move to Celtic has been cut short almost 15 months early.
The Belgian attacker joined the Hoops on an 18-month loan deal at the end of January, expected to get the regular games that could see him return to Chelsea and compete for a regular place in the first team there.
But that’s not materialised yet, with Musonda making just eight appearances and regularly failing to get into Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
The manager himself said just yesterday that Chelsea could choose to recall him this summer due to a lack of game time.
And now that looks like it could have happened within 24 hours – judging by this post by Musonda’s mother Angela this evening.
After what looks like a holiday in Zambia, Musonda’s mum took to Instagram tonight on her return to say her ‘baby son’ has returned home for good – and despite there being three other Musonda brothers, it’s Charly in the picture:
So is Charly’s spell at Celtic over? Even before the end of the season?
Celtic still have three games in the league to play – with the trip to Tynecastle to play Hearts tomorrow their next match.
They’ll then take on Kilmarnock in midweek before facing Aberdeen in the final game of the Premiership campaign next Sunday.
And then it’s on to the Scottish Cup Final against Motherwell, where Celtic will be hoping to win and clinch a double treble.
