Liverpool Fans Are Furious with the Champions League Team of the Season

UEFA have announced their choices for this season’s Champions League squad of the season, and it’s left a lot of Liverpool supporters scratching their heads in bewilderment.

The Reds enjoyed possibly their greatest European season since winning the competition back in 2005, having narrowly lost Saturday’s final 3-1 to Real Madrid in Kiev.

But despite the heroics of Jurgen Klopp’s side, the game’s governing body have included just three Liverpool players in their squad of 18 players – with no room at all for the impressive Sadio Mane.

Mane was probably Liverpool’s best player in the final, scoring and constantly threatening the Madrid defence, and he managed to finish the campaign as the competition’s second-top scorer with nine goals.

In fact, Mane was the only player to score in all five rounds of the 2017/18 Champions League, but it still wasn’t good enough for the UEFA bigwigs – much to the annoyance of the Liverpool faithful:

Do you think Mane deserved to be included? Surely he does?!
