Liverpool Fans are Getting Very Excited About Gigi Buffon Rumours

Juventus legend Gigi Buffon is being linked with a sensational move to Liverpool this summer – and the club’s supporters are getting very excited.

The World Cup winning goalkeeper is leaving the Serie A champions after 17 years with the Turin giants, and many had assumed the 40-year-old would be hanging his gloves up for good.

However, after announcing his Juventus departure earlier today, and confirming Saturday’s match with Veron would be his last for the Old Lady of Italian football, Buffon intriguingly stopped short of saying he was retiring – leading to speculation that he could well be eyeing up a swansong in English football.

The Liverpool Echo is reporting Jurgen Klopp’s side are weighing up a stunning deal to bring Buffon to Anfield for at least one season, with the Reds known to be in the market for a goalkeeper this summer.

It might seem fanciful, but this lot are already getting very excited at the prospect:

How would Buffon fare in English football, even at his age? What do you think?
