The name Rabbi Matondo might well be worth remembering for Manchester City supporters after it emerged the teenager schooled some of the club’s biggest stars in recent sprint tests.
The exciting 17-year-old already has several caps for the Wales Under-21 side and has been catching the eye of youth coaches for the past several seasons at the Etihad.
And it looks like he might be on the verge of a call-up to Pep Guardiola’s senior squad – for pre-season friendlies, at least.
With most of City’s gaggle of millionaires off preparing for the World Cup in Russia next month, Matondo has been putting the hours in on the Eastlands training ground, and he’s been setting new records – literally:
One to watch for the future- Manchester City starlet
Rabbi Matondo broke the 20 metre sprint record at Man City in their end of season testing…Fastest over that distance at the club (including 1st team). #MCFC

He might be a relative unknown now but Matondo has just been called-up to the senior Wales squad by none other than Ryan Giggs, and could be a fully fledged international footballer if he makes it onto the pitch in next month’s friendly against Georgia.
Watch this space, eh?
