Mohamed Salah is taking a lot of stick for his dive against Chelsea this afternoon.
Liverpool were in London today to face Chelsea in a match which could have secured their top four place.
Jurgen Klopp would have been keen to wrap that up at the earliest opportunity given Liverpool will play Real Madrid in the Champions League final later this month and it would give them the chance to rest some players ahead of that.
But that didn’t materialise, as Chelsea put up a strong performance to emerge 1-0 winners.
Olivier Giroud got the decisive goal, heading beyond Loris Karius to open the scoring in the first half – and Antonio Conte’s men managed to hold on to get all three points and keep the pressure on the top four.
It’s Salah’s dive – which was punished by referee Anthony Taylor – that’s getting more attention though.
He went down under the challenge of Gary Cahill at the edge of the box and fans aren’t happy as there was no contact:
Remember that Liverpool players are good, honest professionals that would never dare dive on a football pitch.

Mo Salah who is one of the best players in Europe at the moment had to dive because he is getting pocketed by the one and only Gary Cahill

Disgusting dive from Mo Salah, will Liverpool fans condemn him?

Liverpool fans gonna stay quiet over that Salah dive, after tweeting at Alli n Kane for months like they were their dads. Amazing club but worst fan base in the league. Arsenal better

And with that dive people have stopped comparing Salah to Messi and started comparing him with Ronaldo instead.#CHELIV

Salah dive being swept under the rug. A certain Sterling would’ve had the entire half time show dedicated to him.

Dreadful dive from Salah there 😂😂😂 #CHELIV

Sky don't even mention the Salah dive at half time, can you imagine if it was Dele 🤔

Honestly hate it when players dive. Doesn’t matter who it is. Expect different from Salah though tbh
— cDJ LFC (@CDJLFC) May 6, 2018
Salah is better than that. No need for the blatant dive
