Absolutely no one is having John McGinn to Rangers after reports of the club’s interest surfaced this morning.
According to dailyrecord.co.uk, the Ibrox director of football Mark Allen is keen on the Hibs midfielder and has passed that on to Steven Gerrard as he begins recruiting for his squad this summer.
McGinn has been regularly linked with Celtic in the past, touted as Scott Brown’s long term replacement for club and country.
But a bid from the Hoops has never materialised – and, according to this morning’s paper, Rangers could look to steal in and sign him.
Except – no one believes that’s going to happen.
They mainly believe it because McGinn appears to be a Celtic fan and prefer a move there if he leaves Hibs:
Could Rangers afford John McGinn? No.
Would John McGinn want to play for Rangers? No.
Would Hibs want to sell John McGinn to Rangers? No.
Apart from that, terrific scoop by the red tops this morning!

John McGinn is that player on Football Manager who is never interested in signing for you.
Stranger things have happened but can't see him signing for Rangers.

If Rangers sign Mcginn I’ll get his face tattooed on my leg, that’s how confident I am it’ll never happen !!!

Can’t see John McGinn to Rangers being a goer for two fairly basic reasons:
1) He doesn’t fit ‘The Policy’
2) He has a potato face

Where have these McGinn rumours come from btw? Can’t see it all… it would turn into another farce of a transfer like Scott Allan

I see the newspapers are still just throwing names out on a daily basis. John McGinn won't be a Rangers player & would go as far as to say he would never play for us.

Rangers in for McGinn. Rangers lose out on McGinn. Gerrard fails to land top targets. And so on.

No-one will pay £4-5m for McGinn.
I don't see us spending that kind of money on a single player either. Celtc have all the CL £millions and even they're frugal with their spending. That's not a criticism, it's just how Scottish football is now.

Going to go on out on a limb here and say John McGinn won’t be a Rangers player.

John McGinn to Rangers seems like the most unrealistic transfer of the summer by quite a distance.

John Mcginn to Rangers? Nah. Cannot see it at all. Ends up at Celtic. Nothing surer.

Don't see McGinn going to Rangers! Reckon he'll go down south. Either way the 33% sell on fee we'll receive will be good for us 👏🏼

Naismith all over again. No way are we interested in mcginn https://t.co/ZH7UJuUwly

You get the picture.
Hibs will no doubt look for £3million plus for McGinn, considering how good he’s been for them since signing from St Mirren in 2015.
Could Rangers afford a fee like that? If they could, would they choose to spend it on McGinn?
