Video: Dimitri Payet Cries After Being Forced Off Injured in Europa League Final

Marseille captain Dimitri Payet was reduced to tears in tonight’s Europa League Final after being forced off injured midway through the first-half.

The former West Ham United play-maker has been in outstanding form for the French side throughout this season, and has played a key part in helping his boyhood club reach tonight’s showpiece occasion against Atletico Madrid.

However, despite the final being in the French city of Lyon, the 31-year-old was unable to reach the extraordinary heights we’ve all come to expect from him in recent seasons and it soon became apparent that he was carrying an injury of some sort.

Payet sat out Friday night’s entertaining 3-3 Ligue 1 draw with Guingamp and it certainly looks like tonight’s final just came a bit too soon for his hamstrings:

Payet made himself public enemy number one when leaving West Ham last year but it’s hard not to feel bad for the guy watching these scenes, eh?

What do you think?
