Video: Fernando Torres Scores Twice in Final Game For Boyhood Club Atletico Madrid

Fernando Torres played his final match for Atletico Madrid tonight and gave the club’s fans a fairy-tale ending to his glittering career in Spain.

Torres – who is bringing an end to his second stint at Atleitco – is regarded as a genuine Atleti legend, having graduated through the club’s youth academy to captain the first-team at the tender age of just 18.

Once one of the world’s most feared strikers, Torres definitely isn’t the player he once was in his pomp but he still possesses the ability to unlock a stingy defence – as Eibar found out their cost this evening:

Torres has been linked with a move to Newcastle United, where he could be reunited with his former coach Rafa Benitez, and Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have even been mentioned as possible suitors too.

He might be 34, but today’s showing indicates Torres can still do a job for a club at a certain level – but where will he end up next season?
