Celtic’s squad should look a bit different this summer with some players moved on – and there may be opportunities in midfield for someone like Toure next season. Aside from Scott Brown, there’s not much experience among the Hoops midfielders and Rodgers could see Yaya as someone who can take the pressure off Brown at certain times. But, above all, he’s got a totally different style to any player in the Celtic squad and that can only benefit their team as they look to improve for what will be another important season.

Rodgers signed Kolo at Liverpool and then Celtic at the age of 35 so he’s got previous for a signing like this. And you remember the impact Kolo made early on for Rodgers before reverting to what looked like a coaching role without the title in the second half of his only campaign at the club.

He Could Be Affordable

You’d expect that money isn’t a problem for Toure anymore given he’s just spent eight years at one of world football’s biggest spenders. He’ll knock back offers from China and America to stay closer to where he is now so that supports the theory he’s not looking for money with his next move. So, Celtic could get a quality player at an affordable price short term.
