Brighton defender Connor Goldson is apparently on his way to sign for Rangers – much to the disgust of Seagulls supporters on social media.
According to the Sun, the classy centre-back is putting the finishing touches on his deal to move from the Premier League side to Ibrox, with Steven Gerrard having sanctioned a transfer fee in the region of £3.5 million.
The 25-year-old managed just eight first-team appearances for Brighton last season after being forced to undergo heart surgery backin 2017, but he’s clearly very highly thought of by those who’ve seen him play.
The versatile defender is set to join Allan McGregor and Scott Arfield as the new arrivals at Ibrox this summer, but Goldson leaves the Amex Stadium having clearly made an impression on supporters there, and even if the fee is £3.5 million, there’s a lot of people who think Rangers are getting a quality player for a fraction of his real value:
