Could Leeann Dempster Be in Germany on a Jamie Maclaren Mission?

Leeann Dempster is currently in Germany on business – and that will inevitably lead to speculation linking Hibs with a move for Jamie Maclaren.

The Australian striker is hugely popular at Easter Road after his successful second half of last season on loan at the club from 2. Bundesliga side Darmstadt.

He scored eight goals in 15 appearances for Neil Lennon’s men, including four goals against Rangers and strikes against Celtic, Hearts and Kilmarnock.

As of now, Maclaren will return to Darmstadt for pre-season following his appearance at the World Cup with Australia.

But Hibs fans will be holding out hope they can sign Maclaren permanently as they look to improve next season.

And Dempster’s latest tweet is bound to get some excited:

Considering Cologne is just over two hours drive from Darmstadt, it’s not unrealistic to think that this business trip involved Maclaren or his club in some way.

Of course, the Aussie is currently in Russia ahead of his country’s World Cup campaign kicking off, but a deal could still be done by the clubs to take him to Edinburgh after the summer.

Hibs fans – what do you make of Dempster’s tweet?
