Dean Windass Gives Update on Son Josh’s Rangers Future.. Including £3Million Buyout Clause

Dean Windass has given an update on his son Josh’s future at Rangers, including a £3million buyout clause.

The older Windass isn’t just known for being Josh’s dad – he’s also an ex-English footballer who includes Aberdeen, Hull and Bradford among his former clubs.

But he’s an interesting follow on Twitter these days if you’re a Rangers fan as he normally tweets about what’s happening with his son.

Recent reports have linked Windass jr with a move to English Premier League new boys Cardiff, with dailyrecord.co.uk saying his contract release clause could be triggered.

And Dean has added to that talk by revealing that his son does indeed have a £3m buyout clause.

But he did also tweet that Josh is happy at Rangers and determined to be an integral part for new manager Steven Gerrard:

He added:

Rangers are yet to play a friendly so there’s been no public indication so far as to what Gerrard will do with his team.

But Windass has shown at stages throughout his Rangers career that he could develop into one of the team’s most important players and Gerrard could be the man to help him do that.
