Rangers club captain Lee Wallace has been left out of the club’s pre-season trip to Spain, as the left-back fights for his Ibrox career under Steven Gerrard.
The Scotland international was suspended by the Gers hierarchy towards the end of last season, after he and Kenny Miller were accused of undermining previous coach Graeme Murty.

The 30-year-old has since seen his ban lifted, and he’s returned to training at the club’s newly-named Hummel Training Centre, but he was omitted from the squad selected by Gerrard for their first bout of warm-weather training, with the club’s new signings Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson and Ovie Ejaria joining up with the squad a few days from now.
Wallace is still in dispute with the club after being fined four weeks’ wages for his row with Murty, but it could be that he’s simply trying to finally get over his long-running injury issues by staying in Glasgow.
But, surely, as manager of a new club, you’d want your captain travelling with you, no?
What do you think?
