Manchester United Fans Can’t Believe They’re About to Sign Goalkeeper Lee Grant

Manchester United are on the brink of signing goalkeeper Lee Grant on a free transfer – but a lot of the club’s supporters are seriously underwhelmed after hearing the news.

Given Jose Mourinho has arguably the best goalie on the planet to call upon in David de Gea, the likelihood of any other shot-stopper breaking into the starting XI at Old Trafford any time soon would seem pretty remote, but back-up for the Spaniard is still needed.

Argentine international Sergio Romero is still on the books at United but suffered an injury which ruled him out of the World Cup several weeks ago, and given promising youngsters Dean Henderson and Joel Castro Pereira are being sent out on-loan for next season, Mourinho has felt compelled to delve into the transfer market.

According to the Telegraph, 35-year-old Grant will sign a one-year contract, and whilst he probably won’t play any Premier League matches for United, plenty of fans really aren’t too pleased:

Should United supporters really be this annoyed at the signing of a third choice goalie?
