Manchester United have marked World Bicycle Day with an outstanding throwback of some of the best bicycle kicks in the club’s history, featuring wonder strikes from Andy Cole, Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney.
World Bicycle Day was officially approved earlier this year, with the United Nations keen to have a day of awareness about “the multiple societal benefits of using the bicycle for transport and leisure.”
That being said, a montage of United players scoring screamers with their backs to goal probably wasn’t what the UN had in mind…
It makes for a bloody good watch though!
Included in United’s throwback clip are Rooney’s wonder strike in the Manchester derby, Juan Mata’s memorable goal against Liverpool and Robin van Persie’s acrobatic effort against Swansea.

United were often criticised last season for lacking imagination in the final third, with manager Jose Mourinho seemingly placing more importance in making the team hard to beat and solid defensively.
Fans grew tired as the campaign progressed… and you can’t really blame them, especially as they’ve seen their team score some unbelievable goals – like the ones above – down the years.
Will United adopt a more dynamic and forward-thinking approach next year?
