Steven Gerrard was loving Josh Windass‘ finishing in Rangers training yesterday.

The new Ibrox manager is putting his players through their paces in Spain as they continue what has been an early pre-season start.

They were drawn with Macedonian minnows Shkupi in today’s Europa League first round qualifying draw and that first game will take place on Thursday, July 12th.

So you can see why Rangers are already back in training and stepping up their preparations ahead of that game.

Gerrard will be using the sessions in Spain to show his new squad what he expects of them, but he’ll also be assessing which players he wants to keep and who will be moved on between now and the start of the season.

And Windass looks like he’s started well – with Gerrard’s reaction to his quality finishing in training yesterday suggesting he’s a fan.

Windass shared the highlight reel on Instagram, which includes regular shouts of ‘love that’ from Gerrard:

That’s a good start from Windass – and you’d expect him to play a big part for Gerrard moving forward if he can produce regular finishing like that on the pitch.
