Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri provided an excellent assist for one of his Switzerland team-mates against Brazil this evening – and the excellent cross has Liverpool supporters everywhere drooling.
The 26-year-old is one of Switzerland’s most creative and famous players and was singled out as a potential danger-man for the Brazilians to deal with in tonight’s Group E opener in Rostov.

After a quiet first 45 minutes, Shaqiri finally showed his talents early in the second-half by providing a pin-point cross for Steven Zuber to head home from close range.
As we’ve told you previously, Shaqiri has been linked with a move to Anfield following Stoke’s relegation to the English Championship, and there’s plenty of Reds fans who reckon he’s the perfect target for Jurgen Klopp to chase:

Between Shaqiri’s delivery and Alisson’s immobility on the line, that Switzerland goal is making me reconsider all of my opinions about #LFC’s possible transfer goals at the minute.

That ball by Shaqiri was absolute filth. Imagine Van Dijk or Lovren on the end of those

Shaqiri!!! Liverpool has for seasons lacked someone to deliver good corners.

He couldn't do much the delivery from Shaqiri was excellent. Wouldn't mind him in our LFC squad tbh.

Klopp would whip Shaqiri into shape and he’d turn back into that world beater

We need those Shaqiri corners for Van Dijk to head in. Let's do this @LFC

Shaqiri will be delivering that kinda corner on to VVD and Lovren's head in a couple months time

@LFC announce Shaqiri

Do you think Shaqiri would make a decent signing for Klopp and his Liverpool side, depending on the fee wanted his current club?
