
Allan McGregor insists the Rangers squad believe the Steven Gerrard pre-season has been one of their toughest so far.
The Ibrox manager is now well into preparing his team for the new season, spending a week in Spain for some warm weather training before returning to Scotland to continue preparations for Europa League qualifying kicking off against FC Shkupi on July 12th.
You’d expect Gerrard to be hammering home just how he wants his new squad to play in his debut season as a manager.
But it seems fitness is a high priority too, with McGregor revealing that some of the squad believe this has been one of the toughest pre-season regimes they’ve ever been put through.
And that will be exactly what fans want to hear as they expect a much-improved Rangers team in the coming campaign:

McGregor is one of a number of new signings Gerrard has made already this summer, with Scott Arfield, Connor Goldson, Jon Flanagan, Ovie Ejaria, Nikola Katic and Jamie Murphy.
