Rangers chairman Dave King is promising to invest in the Ibrox side’s squad further this month – despite sanctioning a whopping 10 new signings already this summer.
Steven Gerrard’s arrival as manager has prompted a wide-scale overhaul of the Rangers squad, with the arrival of Ryan Kent on-loan from Liverpool last week taking the number of new recruits into double figures, as Gerrard looks to halt Celtic’s dominance in the domestic game.
As we told you after Rangers’ Europa League qualifier against Macedonian side FC Shkupi last week, Gerrard seemed pretty underwhelmed with his attacking options after the 0-0 draw, and King has vowed to put things right before the transfer window slams shut at the end of August.
Speaking in an interview with STV News this evening, King claimed he hoped to complete two more signings, saying: “I think we could probably see another couple coming in and possibly another couple going out just depending on what happens with the English window coming up.
“But we’ve certainly added a lot of players and got some away as well but I think the squad is looking to more settled and balanced.
“There’s greater quality and depth throughout the squad than we’ve had the last couple of years.”
Do you think Rangers need to invest in their forward-line? And what do you make of their recruitment so far?
