The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Tynecastle, appearing 26 times for Craig Levein’s men and helping them turnaround a very poor start to the campaign under Ian Cathro.
Milinkovic departed Gorgie at the end of the season firmly as a fans’ favourite and everyone would have been hoping a deal could be done to take him from Genoa on a permanent basis.
But as time has passed it’s seemed more and more unlikely that Milinkovic will be a Hearts player next season.
And after recent reports that the Jambos were unable to meet his wage demands and that Hull City appear set to sign him, Milinkovic has taken to Instagram to thank the supporters for what was a memorable campaign:

First of all, I want to say “thanks a lot Hearts!I had a wonderful year, I loved this club and I will always respect Hearts. My adventure is over but I will always follow you. It's a difficult decision. I have a lot of friends at Tynecastle Stadium …Thanks to the coach and his staff. I also loved a lot Edinburgh. My decision is not for the money and I would never do that. I wish you all the best even if I received some insults because I couldn’t stay again in the Club.I will always respect you.
