Hearts Fans Are Raving About Their New Hero Striker Uche Ikpeazu

Hearts supporters appear to have a new hero this afternoon after a brilliant showing by striker Uche Ikpeazu in the Betfred Cup against Inverness Caley Thistle.

The imposing 23-year-old signed a pre-contract with Hearts back in April of this year, following a two-year spell with Cambridge United in England’s League Two, and it looks like the 6ft 4in hitman could be a handful for Premiership defenders this season.

Ikpeazu scored his first Hearts goal in last week’s win over Cowdenbeath in the same competition, but today was an even more promising showing against the Highlanders at Tynecastle.

He scored twice in the emphatic 5-0 victory, and the club’s supporters aren’t too shy to shout their excitement from the rooftops:

Given Rangers have made a bid for Hearts forward Kyle Lafferty, it could be that Ikpeazu is just the new hero Jambos fans need at the moment.

How do you think he’ll fare in the Premiership next season?
