Kieran Tierney is a target for Juventus, according to reports.
But if that seemed unrealistic to begin with, it looks even more unlikely to happen after reports confirmed Alex Sandro no longer wants to leave Turin.
The Celtic left back had been earmarked as a potential £30million replacement for existing Juventus left back Sandro.
That was according to dailyrecord.co.uk’s Duncan Castles, who reported that the Italian champions wanted to sign the talented Scotland international.
Seeing a Scottish player move to Juventus seemed unrealistic already, but the Sandro update suggests that the Serie A side might not be in the market for a left back anymore and it points towards no deal being done.
According to calciomercato.com, Sandro has told Juventus he’s willing to stay at the club now after the high profile signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Brazilian had been linked with a move to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain – possibly paving the way for Tierney to arrive as his replacement.
And that should come as a boost to Celtic fans who are desperate to see Tierney remain at the club as they push for a historic 10-in-a-row.
The Hoops have tied up seven-in-a-row already and success in the league over the next three seasons would see them get 10.
Given Tierney is a boyhood Celtic fan, it’s hoped he’ll remain to lead them to that.
