Leigh Griffiths Gives a Simple But Effective Update on His Celtic Future

Leigh Griffiths has given a simple but effective update on his Celtic future.

The Hoops striker continually seems to be linked with moves away from the club despite never appearing to be unhappy.

And the latest club mentioned with a move for the Scottish talisman is Turkish outfit Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor.

Bizarrely, it’s Transfer Merkazi – a Turkish football Twitter account – who have started the story, but it’s been picked up by some Scottish outlets and could have been a runner until Griffiths had his say on it.

After receiving a tweet about Erzurumspor’s rumoured interest, the Celtic hitman had this response:

Fair play to Griffiths – that 100% shoots down that bizarre rumour.

Despite competition from Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard last season, Griffiths scored 13 goals in 39 appearances for Celtic and is expected to be an important player under Brendan Rodgers again this term.

However, there may still be interest in Griffiths between now and the end of the summer transfer window and it’ll be interesting to see if he deals with every story like this.
