Nobody Can Believe Martyn Waghorn is the Subject of an £8M Bid From Derby

Martyn Waghorn is on the brink of the biggest transfer of his entire career, with Derby County reportedly interested in splashing out £8 million on the former Rangers striker – and pretty much nobody can believe it.

The 28-year-old scored a respectable 16 goals in last season’s English Championship with Ipswich Town, as the Tractor Boys finished mid-table, and now it appears the division’s big boys are looking to snap him up.

According to the Derby Telegraph, new Rams boss Frank Lampard has sanctioned a whopping £8 million splurge on Waghorn, making him one of the club’s all-time record signings.

Considering he was deemed an unmitigated flop during his spell at Ibrox, the news of Waghorn’s looming big-money transfer has caused quite the reaction on social media:

Do you think – even in the cash-rich English league – Martyn Waghorn is worth anywhere near the figures being bandied about for him?

Is he really worth £8 million?!
