The 17-year-old attacker has been involved in pre-season so far under Unai Emery and got a start as the Gunners went up against the La Liga giants in Singapore this afternoon.
Some Arsenal fans may be aware of him given his quality performances in the club’s academy over recent years.
But most would have been unaware until he took his place in the first team squad for pre-season.
Smith-Rowe has a lot of impressing to do if he’s to earn a regular spot in squads throughout this season for Emery.
However, scoring beautiful goals like this will make that a lot easier:

How good is that? He waltzed past the Atletico defence and the finish was sublime.
At 17, Smith-Rowe still has plenty of time on his hands, but if he’s aiming for a career at the top level of football then getting games now will definitely help him.
