Barcelona have unveiled plans to totally renovate their iconic Nou Camp stadium, which will see the famous Catalan ground taking on a brand new name.
The Nou Camp is one of football’s most instantly recognisable venues and has played host to some of the game’s all-time greatest players, but the Barca hierarchy feel a face-lift is long overdue.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, a naming rights deal could be reached soon, with mega companies in America, Asia and Europe all sure to be in the running, with the stadium’s new title revealed as early as the start of next year.
The Nou Camp’s capacity will also be extended too, with the all-seater capacity being pushed up to 105,000 by the start of the 2022/23 season.
It’s been Barcelona’s home for more than 60 years, and changing the Nou Camp doesn’t automatically feel right, does it?
