Jamie Murphy finished off a nice team move for the first goal at Ibrox of the Steven Gerrard era.
The new Rangers manager named a new-look side for the friendly with Bury tonight – more than 40,000 supporters buying tickets for the game against the League Two outfit.
Allan McGregor, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Jon Flanagan and Scott Arfield are all in the team after signing for the club earlier this summer.
But it’s a player Rangers fans were impressed with last season who got them on the scoresheet tonight.
The move started with Goldson, continued with James Tavernier, saw Josh Windass, Arfield and Morelos combine before Tavernier set up Murphy for the chance and he made no mistake with his tap-in:

That is a great goal and should be a promising sign of what’s to come under Gerrard as manager.
Fans will be hoping to see more of it tonight before they get into competitive action with the first leg of their Europa League tie against FC Shkupi next Thursday.
