Rangers have completed the loan signing of midfielder Lassana Coulibaly this afternoon – but the move was almost scuppered after the midfielder believed someone was pulling his leg.
The 22-year-old Mali international moves to Ibrox on a one-year loan from French club Angers and becomes the eighth arrival at the club since Gerrard took over as manager.
Reportedly a combative and tough tackling holding player, Coulibaly will look to form a new-look centre of the park alongside the likes of fellow new boy Scott Arfield, and has been signed in time to play in Thursday’s Europa League qualifier with FK Shkupi.
Speaking to Rangers TV earlier today, Coulibaly seemed genuinely delighted to be in Glasgow, and admitted the lure of player for a certain Liverpool legend was simply too good an opportunity to turn down:

How do you think Coulibaly will fare in Scottish football next season, and what do you make of Gerrard’s captures so far?
