Video: Rangers’ New Striker Umar Sadiq Showed Fans a Glimpse of His Incredible Pace Yesterday

Rangers fans finally got a glimpse of Umar Sadiq in the flesh yesterday, and the club’s new No.9 was only too happy to show off his incredible pace in-front of an impressed Ibrox crowd.

The 21-year-old Nigerian youth international has joined the Gers on a season-long loan from Serie A side Roma, and made his debut in the club’s iconic light blue jersey in yesterday’s 3-0 friendly win over Wigan at Ibrox.

Sadiq thought he’d scored his first goal for the club in the second-half, only for his header to be ruled an own goal, but one particular clip showed exactly what Sadiq is capable of.

Obviously keen to stand out on his debut, Sadiq showed off his electric speed and turned on the afterburners as he broke late into the Wigan penalty area:

Pretty eye-catching, eh? But how do you think Sadiq will fare in the Scottish Premiership in the forthcoming season?
