Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has refused to confirm whether or not his ambitions are matched by the club’s board, less than 24 hours after the damaging 1-1 draw with AEK Athens.
The Hoops’ dreams of reaching the Champions League group stages for the third consecutive year are hanging by a thread following last night’s draw in Glasgow, with Rodgers now needing to mastermind a comeback in Greece next week.
Celtic’s lack of movement in the transfer market has been well documented this month, with long-term target John McGinn signing for Aston Villa yesterday, and it seems Rodgers is growing frustrated with his club’s transfer activity.
The Premiership champions have splashed out on Odsonne Edouard for a record fee of around £9 million, but apart from that, it’s been rather quiet, and speaking to the media this afternoon, Rodgers didn’t seem too happy with how things are going:
#Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers says he may have to understand where the limits are at the club.
When asked if the club were matching his level of ambition, he replied:
“I wouldn’t answer that – that’s something that’s private.” pic.twitter.com/F8LYFaEL9f

Do you think there’s a serious chance Rodgers could actually be considering leaving Celtic?
