The tall defender established himself as a regular in the Dons first-team last season under Derek McInnes and helped the club secure its fourth consecutive second-place finish in the Scottish Premiership.
McKenna, 21, has since been linked with a move to Swansea City in the English Championship, but Celtic’s need for a new central defender has led to rumours that Brendan Rodgers could be tempted to make a move.
According to the BBC, McKenna has been discussed as a potential target inside the corridors of power at Parkhead, but there doesn’t seem to be too much support for the potential move on social media:
I’ll be fucking raging if we bring in McKenna from Aberdeen. There’s millions of class defenders out there, stop taking pish from Scotland

Heard we were looking at Scott McKenna the other day. The mere thought of McKenna and Hendry in the same squad is enough to give anyone nightmares.

I really like McKenna & genuinely think under the right circumstances he’d be welcomed in & encouraged.
These arent the right circumstances. A young inexperienced CB to come in & join 2 young inexperienced CBs with no other experience beside them has disaster written all over it

Rodgers has said from the start of the window we need to sign quality. 10 days of the window left and the only rumour is that big useless cunt. Would rather go wi what we have. Mckenna and Hendry together is the stuff a nightmares

Scott McKenna is pish, only positive thing that can be said for him is he isn't as pish as Jack Hendry. Hopefully Lawwell's propaganda won't emerge to fruition yet again.

Scott McKenna? There must be one centre back in Europe within budget that can come in and improve us – and obviously the guy is injured as well. No disrespect but surely we can be doing better with the recruitment ☘️🤷🏼♂️

You'd think any bid for McKenna would include Christie? So I shall remain sceptical, not that I think he's the answer anyway.

Given he’d probably cost a pretty hefty transfer fee, is McKenna really the type of defender Celtic should be looking at just now?
Is he good enough to develop into a top Hoops star?
