Celtic are set to complete the signing of highly-rated teenage defender Emile Legault, according to reports in the French media today.
But Hoops supporters shouldn’t get too excited by the news, as the 18-year-old looks like being a prospect for the future, rather than an automatic first-team starter for Brendan Rodgers to throw straight into the first-team.
According to Get Football News France, Legault is on the brink of signing for the Premiership champions, and is only waiting for paperwork to be sorted and to get the green light.

The 18-year-old is said to be a right-back first and foremost, but can also fill in at centre-back, and has recently represented Canada at the CONCACAF Men’s Under-17 Championship in Panama.
A free agent this summer, Legualt has most recently played for French side Auxerre’s Under-19 side, and it looks like he’ll compete for a place in Celtic’s development squad.
But do Celtic still need more defensive reinforcements before the end of the month?
