Craig Levein Confirms Tynecastle Grass is a ‘Bit Long’ Ahead of Celtic Visit

Craig Levein Confirms Tynecastle Grass is a ‘Bit Long’ Ahead of Celtic Visit

Craig Levein has given an update on the length of the Tynecastle grass ahead of Celtic‘s visit to Hearts this weekend.

The Jambos manager and his club attracted criticism from Brendan Rodgers last season after his Hoops side beat them 3-1 in Edinburgh.

Despite winning, Rodgers described the Hearts pitch as ’embarrassing’ and that’s contributed to the recent proposal to regulate pitches at an SPFL meeting.

That was defeated, but meant Levein had to discuss the length of the Tynecastle pitch going into Saturday afternoon’s game against Celtic.

And his update should get a smile from most.

Speaking in his press conference today, Levein, per stv.tv, said: “It’s a bit long just now, that’s all I can say.”

Celtic and Hearts meet early on after both winning their opening weekend matches – so it should be a very entertaining game at Tynecastle.

The Hoops beat Livingston 3-1 at home, while Hearts won 4-1 away at Hamilton in a strong opening performance.

Based on Levein’s presser today, we think it’ll be interesting seeing him and Rodgers square off at the weekend.
