Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof Slaughtered by Manchester United Fans During Brighton Display

Jose Mourinho kept faith with Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof this afternoon for Manchester United‘s trip to Brighton – but it wasn’t long before supporters were absolutely slaughtering the club’s centre-back pairing.

Mourinho was vocally keen to sign a centre-half during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Jerome Boateng, Toby Alderweireld and Yerry Mina all linked with a move to Old Trafford, but in the end the Special One was forced to make do with his existing defenders at the club.

Last week’s Premier League opener saw Lindelof and Bailly paired together for the first time in the English top-flight, and the 2-1 victory prompted Mourinho to start them again today.

But they were both all over the shop in the first-half, with veteran striker Glenn Murray running riot and terrorising both men.

Lindelof was directly at fault for Brighton’s opener, having lost Murray’s run in the build-up, whilst Bailly inexplicably gave away a naive penalty just before half-time.

Brighton led 3-1 at the break – and it’s fair to say supporters weren’t afraid to show their anger on social media:

How bad do you think Bailly and Lindelof were for Brighton’s goals?

And do either have a serious future at Old Trafford?
