The month of August seems to deliver one busy weekend and then a quiet one. This is the quiet one for the UK but there are a couple of world titles on the line in the early hours of Sunday morning UK time. In Arizona we have the lightweight WBO action between Raymundo Beltran and Jose Pedraza. We all remember how Ricky Burns got a draw against Beltran and even he felt that Beltran was hard done to. Beltran has gone on to elite level and this should be another world level fight he wins. Pedraza though is a tricky customer and it will be fascinating to see the result early on Sunday morning.
On the same bill we also have the WBO title on the line at bantamweight between Isaac Dogboe and Hidenori Otake. Dogboe is a Brit by way of him being based in London and his winning of the WBO title was a bit of a shock but we are all over it now and this is a defence that should see his hand raised at the end. Otake has bene in a world title fight before so he knows what to expect and fought a Brit – Scott Quigg for the WBA title in 2014 – so again I am fascinated to see the result…
Domestically there is one bill in Manchester where there are 7 fights
