Is Scott McKenna worth more than £3.5million? Aberdeen reportedly think so.
And that’s all that will really matter when it comes to the Scotland international’s future at Pittodrie.
The powerful defender seems to have been constantly linked with a move away from the club ever since breaking through into Derek McInnes’ squad and becoming a regular.
McKenna is now a Scotland cap and his stock is perhaps at its highest after a superb debut season for the club.
And Celtic are the latest club to show an interest in him, with reports today saying that they’ve made a bid of £3.5m for the centre back.
But Aberdeen have reportedly knocked that back and it begs the question – is McKenna worth more than £3.5m?
The Dons certainly think so and are looking to get as much as they possibly can for the talented defender.
McInnes has regularly praised McKenna since his emergence in the team and recently claimed he’s the best centre back in the country.
The Aberdeen boss also said that McKenna will go straight to the English Premier League when he leaves the Granite City, but it looks like Celtic have other ideas on that.
There are just nine days of the summer transfer window left and the Hoops are on the lookout for players to improve them in the centre of defence.
But will they get McKenna? Or are Aberdeen right to value him higher than £3.5m?
