Is Shkodran Mustafi Throwing Shade at Arsene Wenger With Unai Emery Praise?

Shkodran Mustafi appears to have thrown some shade towards Arsene Wenger with his praise of Unai Emery.

The German defender was signed by Wenger at Arsenal back in 2016 and went on to make 75 appearances under him before Emery took over the job.

And he’s remained in the team under Emery, at least to begin with – but could do nothing to stop City losing 2-0 to Manchester City on opening weekend.

It’s fair to say Mustafi is still to find his best form in an Arsenal shirt, but he believes that will come now he’s getting some guidance from his manager.

His comments also make you wonder what the relationship between him and Wenger was like.

Speaking this week, Mustafi, per standard.co.uk, said: “He [Emery] told me the positives in my game and what to work on. I’m happy because it’s difficult when you never know what to work on because no one tells you.”

That’s a dig at Wenger, isn’t it?

The Arsenal defender will have to make his improvements quickly because his side have another tough game away at Chelsea tomorrow night.
