The Scotland international has been constantly linked with a move away from Easter Road this summer, with Celtic known to be interested, but the Hoops missed out on the 23-year-old after failing to reach an agreement with the Hibs hierarchy.
In the end, Championship side Villa agreed to fork out around £2.75million for McGinn, who had just one year remaining on his deal with the Hibees.
Given McGinn played his part in the Edinburgh club’s historic Scottish Cup triumph in 2016, as well as promotion from the Championship in 2017, he’s cemented himself as a modern hero to the Hibs support, and he seems genuinely sad to be leaving:
How do you think McGinn will fare in English football? And will Celtic regret not snapping him up when they had the chance?
