The new Premier League season is barely five minutes old and already Spurs are at the heart of the campaign’s first mini-scandal, with more than 10,000 people demanding they are stripped of points.
The North London side have enjoyed a pretty strong start to the 2018/19 season after defeating Newcastle and Fulham in their opening two matches, all despite the club’s stadium debacle hanging over their head.
Tottenham have confirmed they’ll be forced to play their opening Champions League fixture at Wembley, after construction work on their new 60,000 all-seater home ran into overtime, and problems with the safety system mean that the opening date could be up to another six months.
And some supporters (probably of an Arsenal persuasion) have already lodged a petition with Change.org, complaining about the fact that Spurs haven’t adequately declared a home stadium, and have no timeline in place for when their construction work will be complete:
Mentioned this on the @AFTVMedia podcast today, Spurs should be deducted points for their actions, get this petition to 100k and it has to be discussed in Parliament, you know what to do football world 😂 https://t.co/5GOC0LxnTd

‘Let’s start a petition to get Spurs deducted 4 points. Imagine the scenes when we finish 4 points above them’

Can you just imagine the uproar if the Premier League actually acted upon this and punished Spurs?
Surely there’s no chance this will happen, eh?
