Nobody Can Understand How Willie Collum Has Been Handed this Weekend’s Old Firm Game

Willie Collum has been selected to referee this weekend’s Old Firm showdown between Celtic and Rangers – but supporters of both Glasgow clubs are at a loss to explain why.

Steven Gerrard’s unbeaten Gers travel across the city to take on Brendan Rodgers’ double treble champions in a mouthwatering clash at Parkhead on Sunday lunchtime, with fireworks almost guaranteed.

Given the hostile nature of the fixture, a cool and steady hand will be required to officiate, and the powers that be in Scottish football seem to think Collum fits the bill, despite having a controversial match last weekend, where he seemed to deny Aberdeen a certain penalty against Hibs.

The whistler has been at the centre of controversy several times previously in his career and there’s plenty of fans who are less than convinced by his appointment:

What do you think of the decision to appoint Collum?
