Steven Gerrard has shared his excitement at Rangers being drawn with Villarreal, Rapid Wien and Spartak Moscow in the Europa League group stages.
The Ibrox manager is back in Scotland after leading his side to a 1-1 draw with Ufa in Russia yesterday to seal a 2-1 aggregate victory and a spot in today’s draw.
And straight after Rangers learned who they’ll play in the groups, Gerrard spoke to the media as part of the build-up for Sunday’s game against Celtic at Celtic Park.
It’s fair to say Gerrard can’t wait to continue Rangers’ European adventure:
🎙️SG: I'm excited by the draw, a lot of big names and a great reward for the hard work of the players.

🎙️SG: We feel like we are building something special here, these are the sort of games we want to be a part of and it will be fantastic for the supporters and the squad.

🎙️SG: When we joined up this was the first goal we set to go and achieve but it's down to the players who have taken all the tactics and gameplans on board.

Rangers had to come through three qualifying rounds to make it to the tournament proper – and you can bet they’ll give it everything against their Spanish, Austrian and Russian opponents in the groups.
But attention will now turn to Sunday’s trip to Celtic Park, where Rangers will be hoping they can build on the positivity around the club.
