Borna Barisic has given his first interview as a Rangers player after signing for the club on a four-year deal.
The Croatian defender impressed enough in NK Osijek’s narrow Europa League qualifying defeat at the hands of the Ibrox outfit to force Steven Gerrard into a bid to sign him.
And they’ve managed to tie up a deal very quickly, announcing Barisic on social media this afternoon.
He signs on a four-year contract and should be available to play when Rangers take on St Mirren this Sunday.
After completing the move, Barisic sat down in front of the Rangers TV cameras and told of his delight at getting the deal done:
Barisic is 25 and has experience playing for Osijek and Dinamo Zagreb in his homeland, while also boasting three caps at international level.
He was actually in Croatia’s preliminary squad for the World Cup in the summer, but missed out on the final cut.
He’ll be cup-tied for the remainder of the Europa League qualifying campaign, but it looks like he could be available from the group stage onwards.
